Winter Gazebo Maintenance Tasks

  • Post category:News

At a time when many of you will be packing away your gazebo to store over the winter, we have a few top tips on how best to maintain and store your gazebo. Protect your investment by following these simple steps to ensure your gazebo is in perfect condition for the next season!

Clean your canopy and sidewalls

We recommend using a weak solution of soapy water (testing this on a small area of the gazebo first), and a soft sponge to gently wipe over any marks or stains. Open up your gazebo on the lowest leg setting to clean the canopy first, and then raise the frame to the highest leg setting and add the sidewalls.Rinse off thoroughly and allow to dry.

Make sure your gazebo is fully dry

Even if you don't clean your canopy and sidewalls before storing it for the winter, make sure that the gazebo is properly dry before taking it down. Failure to do this will result in mould and stains to form on the damp fabric. If you have a wheeled storage bag or slipover cover bag for your frame, use this to store the frame and canopy to protect from moisture and dust. For the sidewalls, it is worth considering buying a bag or small suitcase to store these in.

Check your frame

Like anything with moving parts, it is a good idea to check over all the frame brackets and screws in case any have come loose. These can easily be tightened if necessary with a screwdriver. If your frame needs any replacement parts, we recommend ordering these and fitting them before storing the gazebo. Individual spare parts are usually available and are quick and easy to fit. Don't leave it until the day before your next event!

Preparing your gazebo for use

Take your gazebo out of storage and check this over again well in advance of your next event. If you have followed our guide on storing your gazebo, it should be good to go! If there are any issues, this will give you plenty of time to deal with these.
