With the arrival of another Winter and most of us spending less time outdoors, it could be time to pack up your Gazebo until milder temperatures resume. A quick glance at our Maintenance and Storage advice is recommended and definitely worth a few minutes of your time!
Maintenance
Would you buy a car and expect it to perform well for several years without regular services?
Of course not, and the same reasoning should be applied to your Gazebo. Although our Gazebos are considered Heavy Duty, they still require a certain amount of checking over and possibly some maintenance to ensure they are kept in top working order and retain their structural integrity. Here are some points to consider:
- Check joints regularly for loose screws – a simple trip around the frame with a screwdriver after each use is an easy way to prolong the life of the main structure. Any missing screws can be replaced by giving us a call.
- Check joints for any signs of wear and tear – all our joints have a lifetime guarantee so we don’t expect there to be any issues here, but if there were any problems, it’s always best to be aware sooner, when replacements can be sent, than later. See our spare parts.
- Check the Canopy and wall set material and seams for any damage or wear and tear. A small hole, which could be caused by a third party accident could soon develop into a much larger problem if it is left, but if it is repaired immediately with one of our repair patches, your canopy/walls will continue to be in service for many years.
- Regularly remove any snow from the Canopy to avoid stretching and possibly weakening the material.
Storage
Our Industrial Gazebos are designed for use throughout the seasons but in most cases, you will want to pack away and store your Gazebo over the Winter period. However, these recommendations still apply to just overnight storage.
Here are some simple points to remember:
- Ensure that the canopy and walls are clean, mud-free and completely dry before they are packed away in their storage bags. See our Cleaning Advice in FAQs.
- Wipe down the bottom part of the frame legs that may have been exposed to mud and dirt, and again, ensure they are totally dry before packing into their storage bag.
- Store all Gazebo items in a dry area with plenty of ventilation to prevent mould formation.
