Check out the maximum pitch size for the markets that you attend.The most popular size is the 3m x 3m and this is the most common size of gazebo seen at events. Consider buying two smaller gazebos and joining them together. Two 3m x 3m gazebos can make a 3m x 6m shelter
for larger events.
Internal Layout How are you going to divide the space?
Do you have service counters, display cabinets, a food preparation area or do you need storage? Will your customers need to step inside to view or order items? This will affect how you set up your gazebo and if you need sidewalls or not.
Hygiene regulations
Check if your event has any particular regulations relating to food preparation & storage, cooking and hand washing. Sidewalls will help to protect food products and prevent customers from accessing restricted areas.
Adding sidewalls
There are lots of choices when thinking about adding sidewalls to your gazebo. Pick full height panels to protect stock from the weather, panels with windows for better light, or half height panels which are ideal for serving hatches.
Durability and weatherproofing
We all know how unpredictable the British weather is. Market gazebos should be secured with leg weights as often straps are not permitted on hard ground. Check the canopy and sidewall fabric is PVC coated, seams have been hot sealed tape and sidewalls have a PVC mud skirt which will help keep the walls clean at ground level. Check there are spare parts available for the frame and canopies or sidewalls can be replaced.
Set up and transport
Check the size and weight of your gazebo. What size is the vehicle that will be transporting the gazebo? Compact gazebo frames are available for smaller vehicles. If you are a sole trader, make sure you are able to set up the gazebo without help. Pop up gazebos are quick to set up and the smaller sizes are fine for one person to erect. Larger models may need two people.
