The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) is now 25 years old. It was set up as a charity in 1994 – the “eyes and ears along the coast” of the UK. The NCI are located in coastal positions so they can keep visual watch over the coast. They also monitor radio channels for signs of distress from those at sea. This can include sailors, canoeists, divers, swimmers, walkers or climbers. Basically, anyone who uses the shoreline.
There are 56 NCI stations with more than 2500 volunteers. All volunteers are trained to deal with emergencies. They liaise with HM Coastguard and RNLI and other search and rescue services. Providing an important link with all emergency services, the NCI is a much valued organisation.
The NCI use printed Gazebos to shelter their volunteers at community fundraising events. The branding option also spreads awareness of the organisation. This results in more volunteers and donations. Our Gazebos protect the volunteers from the elements and keep any leaflets/information safe and dry.
What products did they choose?
We were first approached by NCI Prawle Point. They wanted a robust, reliable Gazebo that would be easy to set up and take down. They explained that they would be using the Gazebo regularly throughout the year. We advised them to opt for our Industrial range and they chose the most popular size – the 3mx 3m. They chose to have a digitally printed canopy as this is a highly visible area. It offers 360 degree promotion of their organisation.
NCI Prawle Point were very pleased with their printed Gazebo and thanked Gazebos Galore for their “excellent service.” They then recommended us to other NCI groups.
Soon, we were contacted by another branch, Newhaven. NCI Newhaven wanted a similar product but had less funding to purchase. Therefore, we recommended going for the 3mx 3m Commercial Gazebo. This is still a Heavy Duty, quality product and great for regular seasonal use. With a similar digitally printed canopy, they still achieved the same results as Prawle Point; a high quality shelter offering protection and promotion of their group.
We hope to continue our relationship with the National Coastwatch Institution for many years.
